background up, O's done, JAE next
Friday, 25 January 2008
I managed to get a new background up, and as usual... It looks pretty good.^^

Didn't really blog much about what happened yesterday when I got my results so... here goes!
I've always disliked the long speeches before giving out result slips, gets you all uncomfortable as the butterflies in your stomach keeps flying about. There's also the statistics shown on the white screen in the hall which we can't see at all. After that, there's the... 'Get on stage to receive your results outstanding students!' but that part wasn't that bad, seeing all those clever people get on stage. Makes you wonder, 'why can't I be on stage?' (Duh, 'cause you're not outstanding) Aaannnddd finally, those 'not so outstanding' students get their results. Of course, ladies first. Don't worry about a thing and take your time ladies, the guys are just at the back waiting for their turns patiently. But, I can't really say much since I'm the second guy to receive my results. Getting the slip was like, woah! An even greater shock was when Mdm Noreha said 'your L1R5 is... 10!' (something like that)

Though I did better than I expected, I wasn't really THAT happy. The next stage would be the JAE, which is currently giving me a headache right now.

Its hard to choose which course I want...

...
Thursday, 24 January 2008
The long wait is officially over. The O' Level result is released today! Shocking enough, I did slightly better than what I expected. Nothing for me to blog about actually except that I came into the hall slightly late and that I got an L1R5 of 10. Trickster is currently having a maintenance and so... I have to find ways to entertain myself.

Bored...

Singlish
Saturday, 19 January 2008
It's been raining the two previous nights, so it's going to be cold... (Happening in Punggol anyway, not sure of the other areas in Singapore) Be sure to wear more and try not to catch a cold. *Achoo!*

Most of my time the past few days has been dedicated to Trickster so I've got nothing much to blog about except about gaming stuff. I'm sure those playing online games would have had met other local gamers (Singaporeans) but by what are the recognised most by? Yes, their language. Standard (or maybe not) Singlish. I've met gamers like that before, immediately recognising them by their 'lah' and 'lor'. It's not really a good thing however, it gives non-Singaporeans an impression that all Singaporeans speak like that. It's kind of shameful if you really think about it.
Yes yes, some people may think 'why care about how other people feel? We should be proud instead, we have our own language'. Singlish is a mixture of different languages due to Singapore's multi-ethnic nature, so it really isn't really our own 'language'.
Ok, back to the topic. It's not that I want every single Singaporean to speak in accurate english as I too am unable to do that, but at least make an effort to 'type' in accurate english. It's best if the 'lah' and 'lor' are rid of now than wait till they become a part of you and you'll be forever speaking or typing in such a manner.

If the problem of Singlish isn't solved soon, it won't be long till we become true 'Singapore people'. (Singaporean)

New background up!
Thursday, 10 January 2008
Alright! Finally got a new background up! Man... sure took awhile.

While Trickster Online is having it's maintenance, I took some time to try and fix the scanner problem. Apparently, the problem lies with the disc, so when I remembered that there was another installation disc, I used it and... it worked! I just had this drawing done today while waiting for the completion of the installation, it turned up pretty well so I had this up instead.

I got the idea from an NPC in Trickster- Bunny Maid. Since this is the year of the rat, I thought that maybe I'll change the NPC's headgear to those of a mouse. Had a hard time trying to make the ears look like those of mice, and I'm still not sure if they do look like those of mice.

Ah well, have to try to keep myself busy until the maintenance is over, which would be at about 5pm.

School sucks?
Thursday, 3 January 2008
The start of the school term brought 'horrible' news back home - my younger sister's Math teacher is Mr Khan! I'm not exactly sure if that was a bad thing or not but one thing's for certain, my younger sister is going to have tougher times ahead... It seems like Mr Khan is pushing the secondary 3s even more this year compared to our batch. The first lesson with Mr Khan brought back 10 A Maths questions! (I know, it's very little to what we used to do... But look, my sister just became secondary 3 and that's one terrible way of ruining the first day of the school term yes?)

I pity her...

New term
Wednesday, 2 January 2008
Oh my, it's the start of the school term isn't it? Time sure flies by... Now, we're another year older, let bygones be bygones and start afresh! To all those whom I've pissed (I don't think I did), forget my mistakes and we'll all be happy in the new year!

Well, I'm at home now, my elder sister would be leaving for school soon... My two younger sisters already left and I'll be home alone again...

There's been this faint rumbling sound from outside since yesterday, I wonder what it is...
