2nd week!

God... it's so hot the past few days you wonder that the talk about Global Warming may be true after all... What? It is?

Nothing much this week as well... just more anime, manga, anime... Finished with some anime and now I'm currently reading manga. I'm spending most of my time in front of the laptop, living a somewhat hermit lifestyle.

But I have gone out this week, for that Tuesday meeting on the selection on whether to go Animation or Video. Some people might have guessed correctly, and yes, I did choose to go into animation. I believe that there will be a large group of people still wanting to go into video and many others will be kicked out of there and put into animation against their will... Well, I'd just have to wait and see...

I have been informed that there is a 4E1 meeting later next month. I have been considering whether to go or not since it'll most probably be at night. And as usual, I am not a 'night' person. I've never been out late very often, probably only a handful of times, so it'll probably do me good to go. I'd also like to meet my old classmates as well... it's been awhile anyway. So... still considering.

My sisters got their report book back (Not including my eldest sister duh). My youngest sister got an OK grade overall... The best among us four during Secondary One first semester. It's amusing since she got the lowest score for PSLE... and adding to that, the whole thing has been reversed. My younger sister scored highest during PSLE, but got the lowest score for sec 1 first sem. I'm second lousiest for sec 1, my elder sister is second best, and my youngest sister is best.

That aside, I'm abit worried for my younger sister. Her grades for the recent exams have not been very good. She's secondary four already and the O's are in a few months time. I wonder if she can score for her O's. I can help her with some of her subjects but certain things I have long forgotten so, there's also a limit to what I can help with. Just hope things turn up well.

Oh my... Look! It's already the second week of the holiday! Next week Saturday and the Saturday after that I will have APEL class and would need to go to school. Well, it'll take a few hours only so...

Anyway, back to manga.

1st week

I have been cooped up at home for the past few days since the last day of school. Like the usual schedule: it's anime, anime, anime. But now I'm also into manga, so I slot in some manga reading in between, but that's only when I've finished watching my anime series.

While I was surfing the net, I had an encounter of the horrifying kind. OK... it's not THAT exaggerated but... I felt that it was a bad experience. >.> Not an experience of the perverse kind as well... Anyway, I'll explain it now.

So, like I was saying. I forgot what site I had been to, but there was a youtube link at that site, something about a live-action version of CLANNAD. So... being a CLANNAD fan and all, I went to check it out. Somewhere deep inside I knew that I would regret it... and I did. It's some live-action spin-off of CLANNAD, named CLONNAD. (You can go to youtube and search it if you want, but I highly recommend you not to) Well, I could not really comment on the video because I have only watched like... 30 seconds of it before I stopped to prevent any further damage to the name of CLANNAD.

I have no idea why... but many live-action spin-offs all have a similar feel. They feel like... bleh. Horrible. Just horrible. But there are some cases which aren't really so, like the few live-action movie adaptations.

That said, I probably should not 'explore' deeper into the realm of live-action if I want to be able to keep my mind intact. Total mind degeneration~ Added note: somehow it looks like some odd cosplay AV of sorts...

6 weeks!

Alright! Now that the first block is over... I can relax for... 6 weeks! Yeah! 6 weeks! Oh my god~ Ahahahaha (laughs a high pitch bimbo-tic voice) <<< >.> Sounds real odd in real-life but you get what I mean. Well, I still have to go to school for 2 times (I think) for APEL class so it's not totally free for 6 weeks, but it's close enough.

Anyway. The Storyboarding presentation in class today was not all smooth sailing. Our video refuses to render out in time in the correct ratio (which is 16:9), widescreen. So... we presented using a very very very very low quality video which is also in the wrong ratio. Newell's the one presenting for the team and he 'crapped' rather well. (He said that he crapped a lot but I think it was rather good)

Anyway, I went to school early today at around 10am to do the posters for the 'collateral' section. Did 2, rejected 1 which sort of didn't fit the mood of the song. (We're doing on an MTV by the way.) The song being "What if she's an angel" by Tommy Shane Steiner. Go have a listen if you're interested, it's quite nice. Meaningful lyrics and such.

First one that I did. Rejected this but I think it's rather nice. (If I do say so myself)

Second one that I did. Accepted this one.(Obviously, since I rejected the other one) Potrays a more melancholic feel to it. Both done using photoshop.

Storyboarding and project pitching (StoPP) is just... arghh! The final 2 assignments are giving me a hell of a time. Previous assignment... storyboarding stuff for a script on 'The secret of El Zorro", I have to draw some 30 over frames on the storyboard, though I assume some people have more to do but still it's crap. Not to mention drawing 4 frames in an A3 sheet of paper... some people put like 6 in one A3 which is supposed to be 'exceeding the limit" because the lecturer gave a 'maximum of 4 in one A3" limit. But I think he accepted those as well, so it's rather frustrating. Also, there are othe classes taking storyboarding as well and are doing the exact assignment as we were doing then. Except that they have half the length of our script... Sigh* the world is just so unfair sometimes... Stupid lecturer... >.>

So. Now we're doing the final for storyboarding as well as creative writing. We're suupposed to get a draft ready by tomorrow for peer assessment, but my draft has not been so much as complete yet. So, after this... it's back to creative writing assignment. Before this, I was doing the storyboarding thing for the final of StoPP... I have been at it for almost the entire day! Well, excluding the numerous breaks in between...

OK! No time to waste! I have to get to my creative writing now! Or perhaps I should go read a couple of chapters from my manga first...
